Abstracts

Abstracts are summaries of cases that have come before the Honor Board in the recent past. The goal of releasing abstracts is to keep the community informed as to the working status of the Honor Code on Bryn Mawr’s campus. Abstracts are released before final exams each semester in order to bring the Codee to the forefront of each community member’s mind as we head into this very busy time of the year.

Our current policy, as stated in the most recent revision of the Code at Plenary 2006, is to withhold abstracts for at least two semesters (and no more than two years) before their release to the community. All names have been changed to protect confidentiality.

The abstracts you are browsing are not representative of the number or type of case to come before the Honor Board. The most recent abstracts have been selected at random from a library of cases to have come before the board within the last two years (excluding any cases from within the last two semesters).

Discussion about the cases and decisions described in these abstracts is highly encouraged. You are advised to seek out a member of the Honor Board, a Hall Advisor, or Customs person if you have any questions or concerns.

Abstracts from 2005 and earlier can be found here.
